About Us
The Dalhousie Faculty Association (DFA) represents almost 1000 teaching, research, librarian and counselling faculty at Dalhousie University. Under the leadership of a volunteer Executive Committee, DFA deals with employee-employer relations and issues of common interest to our members. We also address broader interests of the academic community.
We were formed in 1951, and on November 24, 1978, the DFA was certified by the Nova Scotia Labour Relations Board as a Bargaining Agent under the “Trade Union Act” of Nova Scotia. We are the exclusive bargaining agent for Bargaining Unit members. We are affiliated with the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT), and your membership in the DFA includes membership in CAUT.
For more information, please review DFA's Constitution and By-Laws.
